David Kopplin is a Managing Director at Dark Alpha Capital, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and supporting the growth of the firm’s private company investments across the lower middle market, particularly businesses with $1M+ EBITDA. He brings deep expertise in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and strategic growth initiatives.
David has over three decades of experience spanning investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, and the energy sector. Before joining Dark Alpha, he held senior leadership roles at Groce, Rose, & Moore LLC, the University of North Carolina System, Taylor Advisory, H&E Equipment Services, and Enable Midstream Partners. His work has included managing multi-billion-dollar capital projects, directing mergers and acquisitions, performing economic valuations, and implementing cost-saving initiatives that significantly reduced operating expenses.
In addition to his corporate experience, David operates Corporate Finance Resources LLC, providing advisory services to investment banking and private equity clients on transactions, valuation, financial modeling, and due diligence. He has advised a range of firms, including Dark Alpha Capital, ClearRidge LLC, and Black Diamond Mergers & Acquisitions LLC.
