Dark Alpha Capital, a nimble and growth-oriented independent sponsor, is seeking a motivated PE Operations Associate to join our team. We specialize in partnering with exceptional private companies in select sectors, driving transformative value through strategic acquisitions, operational enhancements, and targeted exit planning — without the constraints of a traditional committed fund.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with investment and executive teams to execute value creation plans across portfolio companies, focusing on operational improvements, cost optimization, process efficiencies, and performance tracking.
  • Support pre- and post-acquisition initiatives, including due diligence analysis, KPI monitoring, financial forecasting, and identification of growth levers (supply chain, revenue enhancement, organizational structure, etc.).
  • Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and analytical models to track portfolio company performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist in coordinating with portfolio company leadership, external advisors, and service providers to implement strategic projects and operational best practices.
  • Contribute to deal sourcing support, industry research, and preparation for investment committee materials in our independent sponsor model.

Qualifications & Profile:

  • 2–5+ years of relevant experience in private equity operations, portfolio operations, consulting (strategy/ops), investment banking, or portfolio company roles.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with data tools a plus).
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Interest in operational value creation and working directly with management teams in middle-market companies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred but not mandatory for strong candidates).
